At the SAG Awards, Jessica Chastain tripped over her dress, but it didn’t detract from her significant victory

When fellow SAG nominees Zendaya and Paul Mescal gave Jessica Chastain the prize for the best performance by a female actor in a television movie or limited series for her work on the Showtime series “George & Tammy,” Jessica Chastain took home the big prize at the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 26.

The performer was ecstatic to receive the honor and gasped in shock as she walked up to the stage to do so. She did had a minor setback when she stumbled over the skirt of her stunning hot-pink floor-length gown while she was being helped up the stage’s stairs by Courtney B. Vance. She swiftly bounced back, though, and ignored the incident, not even bringing it up in her motivational acceptance speech.

I’m now performing in New York. I’m performing in “A Doll’s House,” and every day after the show I get to talk to folks at the stage door. Several performers stop by and share their tales with me, and it reminds me of college “In her address, she remarked. “When Philip Seymour Hoffman visited my class to give a speech, he shared all of his discouraging tales about auditions and inspired us to persevere even when we felt no one was looking. I look forward to working with each of you, he remarked at the end of the speech.”

She went on: “It seemed as though he had created it, which really astonished me.

This story has inspired me to talk about the power of the mind and the influence of thoughts. I want to encourage everyone who might be having difficulties at home, as well as all the actors I come in contact with, to persevere. Just one more job to go. I’m eager to collaborate with you. I love you, and I’ll see you on set.

Later that evening, Chastain acknowledged that her misstep had shaken her a little. I realize I’m in trouble as I make my way up there because my entire body is trembling, and I think, “Okay, I’m going to need help up the stairs. During the event, she admitted to “Access Hollywood” that she had started to trip.
