Character posters have just given us our finest look yet at the eagerly awaited “Barbie” film! Warner Bros. unveiled a record 23 character posters for Greta Gerwig’s movie on April 4, seemingly revealing the parts of every cast member.
Fans already knew that Ryan Gosling plays Ken and Margot Robbie plays Barbie, but the movie’s posters confirm that there are many other Barbies in the film, including those played by Issa Rae, Nicola Coughlan, Sharon Rooney, Hari Nef, Emma Mackey, Ritu Arya, and even Kate McKinnon.
The music sensation Dua Lipa’s appearance in the movie as a mermaid Barbie was also made public for the first time by the posters. View the character descriptions for each role along with all the posters up ahead.
The outrageous video in the “Barbie” teaser trailer, which was released in December 2022, made fun of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” with amusing results. “From the dawn of time, since the first young girl ever existed, there have been dolls,” the documentary-style narrator says as the teaser begins with footage of a sunrise over a desert.
The narrator adds, “But the dolls were always and forever baby dolls, till..,” while little girls play with their miniature dolls. As a huge Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, appears among the girls and winks at them, the tale ends. The sisters start crushing their baby dolls after being utterly amazed.
