Julia Fox has apologized to ex Peter Artemiev for calling her son’s father a “deadbeat” and an “alcoholic.”
“All I want to say is, I’m sorry,” Fox apologized on the Friday episode of her “Forbidden Fruits” podcast co-hosted by Niki Takesh. “You’re not a deadbeat, I know that you’re not, and I know that it wasn’t that you weren’t trying to see [son] Valentino, it’s that you weren’t trying to see me.”
The actress revealed that she wrote the social media rant that dragged her ex during the holidays after she hadn’t heard from him in “a month or more.”
“Everyone had COVID.” she explained, “I had no help at all whatsoever, and my friend was out and saw Peter out and Peter was saying something along the lines of, ‘that bitch won’t let me see my son.’ And when that was relayed to me … my blood boiled. I just snapped.”
According to Fox, she attempted to get in touch with her child’s father several times, which made his alleged statement even more infuriating.
Today, however, the actress spoke of “evening the playing field” with Peter due to his aversion to stardom.
“He just is so not about this life,” she continued. “He doesn’t give a f–k about it. He’s, like, the most chillest, down-to-earth, authentic guy.”
Fox went on to share details of the early stages of their relationship, revealing that they met before her star-making turn in “Uncut Gems” but didn’t begin dating until months later after Artemiev had become single again. After a month of dating, the couple married in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately, it seems that the birth of their son Valentino in January 2021 crystallized nascent issues in the relationship.
“He just really did not step up to the plate in the way that I wanted,” she shared, adding that she, too, became a different person after giving birth.
“I feel like he was kind of meant to deliver me my son in a weird way.”
The pair of exes are now in a better place apparently, as baby Valentino hung out with his dad while Fox recorded the podcast.
New York native Fox is currently dating Kanye West.
