Each installment of the industry’s most famous hitman has outperformed its predecessor in box office earnings, earning Keanu Reeves a sizable payday. Keanu Reeve’s character, John Wick, speaks sparingly and does his talking through his physical resilience and combat skills.
Reeves himself admitted that he had negotiated for the scripts to limit the need for his character to express his feelings with words as much as possible, instead allowing his expressions and actions to convey the narrative.
In the most recent installment of the saga, Reeves received a salary of around $15 million.
According to Fandomwire, his character speaks only 380 words in the film’s 169 minutes, meaning that each word cost him around 40,000 dollars. John Wick 4 has become the second highest grossing film of the entire saga, accumulating more than 240 million dollars worldwide.
The series’ first movie, released in 2014, secured 86 million dollars in the box office, while the second and the third managed 171 and 327 million dollars respectively.
