When Tyrel Wolfe was seven years old, he and his family put together a box of gifts for a child overseas with Operation Christmas Child and Samaritan’s Purse.
The program, according to the Samaritan’s Purse website provides physical and spiritual aid to people around the world.
The organization was founded in 1970 by Bob Pierce and now helps people around the world!
You can put small toys and gifts into a shoebox, and they will make sure a child who doesn’t have those things will get it.
In addition to delivering gifts to children around the holidays, Samaritan’s Purse also provided support to people who have fallen victim to natural disasters, disease, poverty, war, and famine.
Tyrel filled a box for a girl that was about the same age as he was and then delivered it to his church.
Tyrel’s box was sent to the Philippines, and Tyrel didn’t really give it much more thought over the next ten years.
Then out of nowhere (Ten years later), Tyrel got a Facebook friend request message from Joana Marchan, and the two started exchanging messages.
Turns out Joana was the girl who had received Tyrel’s box of gifts from Samaritan’s Purse!
Joana has reached out to Tyrel to thank him for the box!
