A youth baseball coach was killed and his 15-year-old son was injured while driving home from a game Tuesday night in a Minneapolis suburb.
Jay Boughton and his son Harrison were on U.S. Highway 169 in Plymouth when another driver pulled alongside their vehicle and fired bullets into it, NBC News reported.
Their car crashed, and Harrison performed CPR on his father before first responders arrived to the scene about 7 miles west of Minneapolis, according to local CBS affiliate WCCO. The two were taken to a nearby hospital, where Jay died and Harrison was released later Tuesday night.
Police suspect Boughton and the other driver were involved in some type of dispute while on the road, local ABC affiliate KSTP reported. No one has been arrested in the case.
Cops shared grainy photos Wednesday of the shooter’s vehicle, describing it as a light-colored SUV similar to a Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Tahoe.
Boughton is survived by Harrison, his wife Kristin and his daughter Amalie.
